Albion Laboratory Services - Forage Mineral Analysis

Minerals are essential nutrients for all animals.  In ruminants they are involved in growth, fertility, production and the maintenance of health. Without mineral elements, the macro-nutrients of protein, carbohydrate and fat, which provide the ruminant animal with energy, would be worthless.

Over 40 mineral elements have been identified in animal tissue; however, not all of these are known to be essential.  Albion Laboratory Services Forage Mineral Analysis measures 16 of these elements.  The Macro-elements are listed  towards  the  top  of  the  Forage  Mineral analysis  report, with the Micro-elements listed below.

Macro-Elements:
• Calcium (Ca)    • Phosphorus (P)    • Chloride (Cl)
• Potassium (K) • Sodium (Na)    • Sulphur (S)
• Magnesium (Mg)

Micro-Elements:
• Iron (Fe)   • Aluminium (Al)  • Molybdenum (Mo)
• Zinc (Zn) • Cobalt (Co) • Selenium (Se)
• Iodine (I) • Copper (Cu)  • Boron (B)
• Manganese (Mn)

Related Mineral Parameters:
• Cation – Anion Balance  • Relative Copper Antagonism  • Soil Contamination Index
